About Hometown Lumber...
with excerpts written by Lisa Hoffman in the February, 2009, Upper Peninsula Business Today publication we go back many years. "Hometowne Lumber & Building Center and Hometowne Kitchen & Bath Design Center take pride in being a hometown business that offers exceptional customer service and quality products at a value price."
Hometowne opened as Eisele & Sons Lumber in 1922 selling lumber and fuel. In 1965 it was sold to Evo Santoni and run under the name of Santoni Lumber & Fuel. In 1969 Doug Nord purchased the business from Evo but it continued under the then well recognized name of Santoni Lumber and Fuel.
Joe Bronzyk began working in the lumber yard in 1992, and in 2000 he purchased the business. The reorganization and expansion then began. He remodeled the hardware and expanded the inventory to double the inventory. 1994 brought the another addition to include a 2,000 square foot Kitchen and Bath Design Center just across the parking lot from the lumber center.
The Kitchen and Bath Center now has four showrooms totaling 6,000 square feet. The show-rooms not only include all products for your kitchen and bath but also features granite, quartz and post-formed laminate countertops, carpeting, hardwood flooring, laminate flooring, ceramic tile, bamboo and cork flooring. We also feature exterior products including shingles, windows, vinyl and wood siding, treated and composite decking and fencing and garage doors. A more extensive line of interior and exterior paints and stains are also available.
Joe's business motto is "building materials for every need with a reputation for quality and service". We can sell you all the products required to build a home from the foundation to the roof. "We base our business on service, having 25 full time trained, friendly and knowledgeable employees and having the right equipment to handle all your delivery needs."
Hometowne delivers within a 100 mile radius and has also delivered as far away at Dollar Bay and L'Anse. A variety of delivery trucks are available, including a boom, to accommodate your building materials.
